LEGO® Serious Play® facilitation — Melbourne

Your team has the answer. Your meetings keep burying it

The same voices dominate, the decision slides to next week, and the fix is always another meeting. Brick Spark runs facilitated LEGO® Serious Play® sessions where every person builds their answer before anyone speaks, so the room leaves with a decision, owners and dates.

Sessions from AU$2,995 (+GST). Facilitated end to end by Chris Pepper, with The Ignite Report (your written action list) in your inbox within 48 hours.

The problem

It shows up in the meeting. It costs you everywhere else.

Most teams have plenty of ideas and too few rooms where everyone's thinking gets on the table at once. Until that changes, the same problems keep coming back, in meetings, workshops and planning days alike.

What you see in the room

Now

The same two or three voices run it

Everyone else quietly checks out, and the best thinking never makes it onto the table. The most senior person speaks first, and everyone else adjusts their answer to match.

After a session

Everyone builds their answer before anyone speaks, so nobody has a senior opinion to match.

Now

It ends without a decision

Plenty of discussion, no outcome. Another meeting gets booked to pick it up next week, and the cycle repeats.

After a session

The room leaves with a decision, an owner for each action and a date to go with it.

Now

The sharpest read goes unheard

The person who sees the problem most clearly is often the one who never gets the airtime to say it.

After a session

Their model sits on the table next to everyone else’s, and it gets explained like everyone else’s.

What it costs the business

Now

A strategy nobody can repeat back

Everyone nodded at the direction. Ask five people what it means and you'll get five answers, so the funding call never really gets made.

After a session

The people who have to deliver the strategy build it, so they can explain it in their own words.

Now

Teams blaming each other's process

Two teams, each sure the other is the problem. Every meeting about it turns into polite blame with an agenda attached.

After a session

Both teams build how the work really moves between them, and the gap shows up in the bricks instead of in the blame.

Now

Change that never really lands

The org chart changed, or the new system went live, but how people actually work didn't. The old way quietly survives.

After a session

People build what the new way of working looks like for them, and the first actions have owners before anyone goes back to their desk.

76%of Australian workers say meetings are an ineffective use of their time (Atlassian, 2024)
4 weeksa year lost to unproductive meetings for two in three Australian employees, nearly three hours every week (COS research)
3rdagenda the same undecided question is sitting on. You already know which one.

You've tried the tighter agenda, the timer, the round-robin and the "no laptops" rule. They tidy the structure. They don't change who gets heard.

You don't need another meeting. You need everyone building the answer.

Worth a read before you book anything: seven signs a workshop would pay off, and a retro format you can run yourself this week.

The method

Three steps. Nobody dominates the room.

LEGO® Serious Play® facilitation uses a 3D model building method instead, where everyone answers with their hands before anyone answers out loud, which fixes participation directly, in one session. More on how the method works.

Pick a brick up — each one is a step

Step 01 — Think

The question comes first

Before a single brick comes out, the room agrees the one question the session has to answer, designed with you on the discovery call. A vague question only ever gets a vague model, so no workshop starts without it.

The steps are simple on paper. The craft is in the facilitation: reading the room, keeping the loudest voices from steering, and knowing which question opens up the model someone is hiding behind.

The sessions

Came looking for team building or a team day? Here’s what you get.

People find Brick Spark through different searches: workshop facilitation, corporate workshops, team building, a team day. Whichever brought you here, the session underneath is the same: everyone builds, everyone speaks, and the room leaves with a decision it can act on.

Facilitation

Workshop facilitation

Strategy days, project kickoffs, reviews and planning sessions, professionally facilitated so every voice gets heard, including the people who don't usually get a word in. You set the objective, the facilitation gets the room there, and the session ends with decisions and actions rather than another meeting booked.

Team building

Booked as team building?

You get a working session on something that matters, like culture, ways of working or a project reset, and the connection and the laughs come along as a by-product. You leave with decisions made and actions owned. If a good day out is all you’re after, standard team building is cheaper, and Chris will say so.

Team day

Planning a team day?

Your people spend the day thinking, building and deciding together instead of bowling or trust falls, and walk out with a plan they made themselves. Anywhere in Australia, and no LEGO® experience needed.

The rooms

Made for the meetings with the most at stake.

Executive strategy formulation, a project kickoff, a team reset: if the session matters enough that you can't afford it ending in silence and a follow-up invite, it's a fit for LEGO® Serious Play® facilitation.

Project kickoffs Project wrap-ups Strategy days & executive strategy formulation Team resets & executive team alignment Cross-team problem solving Breaking down communication silos System rollouts & go-lives Annual planning season

The decisions these rooms produce: which of three competing priorities gets funded this quarter. What the team stops doing after the restructure. Who owns each workstream from day one. What really went wrong on the last project, agreed by the people who lived it. The ground rules a newly merged team holds each other to. How the team actually works on day one of the new system, agreed before go-live rather than discovered after it. What next year's priorities are, decided by the people who'll be accountable for them.

The proof

What people have said after a session with Chris.

On the facilitation

"The quality of the presenters! Best I have seen in a very long time! Brilliant, knowledgeable and engaging."

Workshop participant, session feedback
On the energy

"Very professional and energetic presenter."

Workshop participant, session feedback
On the clarity

"The presentation was straightforward and easy to understand."

Workshop participant, session feedback

Coming in skeptical is normal. Most people assume it's an afternoon of playing with toys, until the session ends with a decision the room made itself.

The guarantee

If the room doesn't decide, Chris comes back and runs another one, free.

Every session is designed around one or two focus questions agreed in your discovery call, and built so the room leaves with a decision it can act on immediately. If your team can't reach a resolution in that first workshop, Chris comes back and runs a second one at no charge to finish the job. Applies to Spark Session and The Big Build. The Taster Session doesn't carry this guarantee.

Context: 65% of Australian workers have sat through meetings where the goal was never stated (Atlassian, 2024). These sessions start from the question you agree up front, which is why a decision is a fair thing to guarantee.

The run-up

Three steps from enquiry to outcome.

Booking LEGO® Serious Play® facilitation in Melbourne runs to three steps, and Chris handles all three himself.

Before

Discovery call

Chris maps your objective and designs the questions the session is built around. You bring the challenge; Chris brings the method.

The day

The session

Facilitated end to end. Everyone builds, everyone speaks, and the room works toward a decision it can act on.

After

Actions & 30-day follow-up

You leave with The Ignite Report, a written action list against names, and a follow-up call to check the actions landed.

The facilitator

You're booking Chris, not an agency.

Brick Spark is run by Chris Pepper, a certified facilitator in Victoria with 21 years in Australian learning and development, running LEGO® Serious Play® facilitation across Melbourne. He moved from sales into training in 2005 because getting the best out of people beat closing them, and he's been building rooms where everyone gets heard ever since.

Every session is designed and facilitated by Chris personally, so the person you talk to before the workshop is the person standing at the table. More about Chris and how he got here.

Chris, and what he builds from

Before you book

Questions worth asking before you book.

Isn't this just an excuse to play with toys?
It's a fair place to start. LEGO® Serious Play® is a 3D model building methodology that uses building as a thinking tool, so people surface ideas through their hands that they can't get to by talking alone. The session is built to end with a decision the room made itself.
What if nobody on our team has done this before?
Nobody needs LEGO® experience or building skill. The facilitation carries the process. You'll get simple prompts and enough bricks to answer them, and the first exercise takes the pressure off within minutes.
We've already tried agendas and outside facilitators — why would this be different?
A good agenda fixes the structure, but you can have the perfect running order and still have two people talking while the rest of the room checks out. This method changes who gets airtime.
Where in Melbourne do you run LEGO® Serious Play® facilitation?
Brick Spark is based in Melbourne and runs sessions at your workplace or venue across the CBD, Southbank, Docklands and the rest of greater Melbourne, out to Geelong and the Mornington Peninsula, with travel Australia-wide by arrangement. All the bricks and materials come to you, so you just need a room with decent tables. See the workshop formats for what each kind of session covers.
Is Chris a certified LEGO® Serious Play® facilitator?
Yes. Chris Pepper is a certified facilitator in Victoria, trained in the LEGO® Serious Play® method and running it alongside a learning and development career going back to 2005, and he designs and facilitates every session personally.
What's included, and how is it priced?
Spark Session and The Big Build both include the facilitated session and The Ignite Report, a photographed model summary and a written action list. The Taster Session gets a lighter recap, and the full pricing page has the exact inclusions. Pricing starts at AU$2,995 (+GST) and scales with the scope of the session.
Why book Brick Spark over another certified LEGO® Serious Play® facilitator?
Most LEGO® Serious Play® facilitators ask you to book a call before you see a price or know what's included. Brick Spark publishes both upfront, and backs every Spark Session and Big Build with a guarantee: if your team can't reach a resolution in the first workshop, Chris comes back and runs a second one, free. Chris also brings something most LSP-only facilitators don't: a learning and development career going back to 2005, with 10,000+ people trained across Australia, before he added the LEGO® Serious Play® certification, so the room-reading skill has had twenty years of practice and only the method is new.
